After a 12 hour flight which flipped our body clock to the complete opposite, we were exhausted and jumped into a bus that took us to hollywood blvd at which point was just waking up and starting another day of maddness! after a long sleep in the hostel we venture out to see the sights and sounds of the walk of fame, we did the obligatory photos of us crouched over our favourite celebs., and explored the hills. later we did an organised tour of hollywood which included a walking tour of things like the hotel out of pretty woman, the night club featured on the hills and many more unimpressive sights. Then we walked all the way up to the hollywood sign and enjoyed the vast view of LA.
the next day we caught the bus to the beach which made a stop and change in a dodgy ghetto with the strangest people you would ever dream of meeting. for example there was one man crouched with his head in his hands yelling 'oh lord! save me lord' then screaming at the top of his lungs. then we were approached by a friendly midget with a filthy mouth. oh and i nearly got punched by a pleasant girl on the bus who accused me of staring at her which of course i wasnt!
the beach was buzzing with people just like offthe tele. there was a cute little boy who was amazing at skateboarding and we sat and watched him for a while whilst tucking into a greasy burger n chips yuckkkk! then we took a leisurely stroll down the beach all the way to the bottom where muscle beach and the pier is. we were surprised how many men were wearing thongs and managed to get a couple of sneaky pictures of their Heine's.
we got in touch with our friend Rodney that we met in Thailand and organised meeting him in San francisco then booked our grey hound San francisco then booked our grey hound tickets and enjoyed another night on hollywood blvd.
the next day we set off on an 8 hour bus ride to San Fran and along the way we saw a forest fire which filled the air with smoke, we dont know if it was a controlled fire or what but man it was hot!!! the bus blurted out freezing cold air the whole time and every time we went outside it felt like we would spontaneously com-bust!!! even still i prefer being too hot then too cold!

We met Rodney and he invited us into his gorgeous home in a cute little suburb near to ashbury. he was a brilliant host and looked after us like we were family, taking us for dinner, drinks and introducing us to his friends and brother. we had some very good nights out and found ourselves falling in love with San Francisco! in the day time we explored the sights and sounds such as downtown, Alcatraz, golden gate bridge and the museum of modern art.
America exceeded our expectations and we left wishing that we had allowed our selves more time there. next stop though was cancun in mexico.
